As the protest by the farmers, tenting on the Delhi borders towards the Centre’s agricultural reforms enters 17th day as we speak, Congress chief Kapil Sibal took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he by no means listens to the grievances of the farmers.
“Agitating Farmers; Prime Minister says: ”Say something and listen to something (kuchh kahiye kuchh suniye); Since 2014 Modi ji:”You said everything and never listened (aap ne sab kuchh kaha aur kabhi bhi na sunna)” Kapil Sibal tweeted.
Earlier, the Congress chief had accused the federal government of not contemplating to the ideas put ahead by the Opposition events on farm legal guidelines and alleged that it doesn’t maintain complete dialogue on legislations.

He mentioned most legislations should not referred to parliamentary committees for scrutiny and since the federal government has a majority in Lok Sabha, “they really don’t care”.
Thousands of farmers are protesting close to Delhi’s borders towards lately enacted farm legal guidelines – Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
