Tamil Nadu reported 1,181 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the general tally to eight,02,342. Chennai and 5 different districts accounted for over half of the fresh infections.
Chennai topped the desk with 344 cases (together with three imported ones), taking its whole depend to 2,20,903. Five different districts had greater than 50 cases every — Coimbatore (111), Chengalpattu (74), Tiruppur (70), Erode (53) and Tiruvallur (52). Salem and Kancheepuram reported 49 and 40 cases. Perambalur recorded no fresh case, whereas 12 different districts had lower than 10 cases every.

Drop in deaths
The variety of fatalities dropped to 2 in Chennai. Dharmapuri and Salem reported two deaths every, whereas Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Krishnagiri, Theni and Tiruvannamalai had one loss of life every.
Two of the 12 individuals didn’t have co-morbidities. One of them was a 26-year-old girl from Krishnagiri, who was admitted to a non-public hospital in Salem with complaints of cough and issue in respiratory for a day on December 12. She died on December 15 of acute respiratory misery syndrome and COVID-19 pneumonia.
A 47-year-old girl from Chennai, who was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on December 14, died the subsequent day owing to COVID-19 pneumonia, acute cerebrovascular accident, large intracranial haemorrhage, bicytopenia and respiratory failure.
With 73,015 samples examined within the final 24 hours, a complete of 1,31,59,822 samples have to date been examined within the State.
