The Ghazipur district administration has demolished a godown, constructed on grabbed public land, and probing into some irregularities involving a resort, with each the properties collectively owned by the spouse of don-turned-BSP MLA Mukhtar Ansari, officers stated on Sunday.
The godown was constructed instead of a pond by M/s Vikas Construction wherein Ansari’s spouse Afsa Begum and his brother-in-law Aatif Raja, in addition to three others — Zakir Hussain, Ravindra Narayan Singh and Anwar Shahzada — are companions, stated Ghazipur District Magistrate Om Prakash Arya.
The agency’s homeowners fudged the data of the pond in Fathepur village, measuring over 5 bighas, and bought the land registered of their names, he stated, including they later constructed a godown over it and rented it out to the Food Corporation of India, the DM stated.
The godown was demolished on Saturday together with its boundary wall and the administration has initiated motion within the mater, he added.
Meanwhile, Ghazipur Sub Divisional Magistrate Prabhas Kumar stated the district administration has additionally issued a discover to the homeowners of Gajal Hotel in-built Mahubagh locality of the town over some irregularities involving it.
The resort is owned by Afsa Begum and her sons Abbas Ansari and Umar Ansari, added Kumar. “Several shortcomings have been found in the hotel, and a notice has been issued to its owners,” he stated.
Mukhtar Ansari is a sitting BSP MLA from Mau meeting constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
