Wholesale passenger vehicle gross sales rose 12.73% in November pushed by festive season, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) stated on Friday.
As per information shared by the business physique, passenger vehicle dispatches to the sellers by unique tools producer (OEMs) stood at 2,85,367 models in the final month, up from 2,53,139 in similar interval a yr in the past.
As per figures shared by by Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) earlier this week, retail gross sales for passenger automobiles have been up 4.17% to 2,91,001 models.
“We have witnessed an increase in wholesale numbers in the month of November, where passenger vehicles grew by 12.73% and two-wheelers by 13.43% over the corresponding month of last year, primarily on account of the festive season,” Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM stated.
Wholesales of two-wheelers additionally elevated to 16,00,379 models from 14,10,939 models in the yr in the past month. However, in distinction, the retail gross sales fell 21.40% in the course of the month to 14,13,378 models.
“The retail sales of two-wheelers lags behind the wholesale sales numbers but would even out over a period, as OEMs engage with their dealers. While the festive season brought back some fervour in specific segments, the overall economic scenario would determine the industry’s performance going forward,” Mr. Menon stated.
As per information shared by SIAM, gross sales of vehicles have been up 10.50% to 1,70,418 models, whereas that of utility automobiles was up 17.16% to 1,03,525 models and van gross sales rose 8.23% to 11,424 models.
Likewise, in two-wheelers, gross sales of scooters have been up 9.29% to five,02,561 models, whereas motorbike gross sales rose 14.90% to 10,26,705 models.
Overall, wholesale gross sales of automobiles throughout classes — passenger automobiles, three wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycles — rose 11% to 19,09,372 models. Sales of business automobiles, which are actually launched by SIAM quarterly, are usually not included in this.
