North Korea accused South Korea of sending ships throughout the disputed sea boundary to find the body of a South Korean official not too long ago killed by North Korean troops, warning on Sunday the intrusion might escalate tensions. South Korea denied the accusation.

“We urge the South side to immediately halt the intrusion across the military demarcation line in the West Sea that may lead to escalation of tensions,” the official Korean Central News Agency stated. “It arouses our due vigilance as it may lead to another awful incident.”

‘Kim’s apology’

South Korea proposed a joint investigation to resolve discrepancies over the South Korean official’s loss of life final week. Officials in Seoul have stated the 47-year-old was possible trying to defect earlier than North Korean troops fatally shot him and burned his body.

According to Seoul, North Korea on Friday despatched a message, together with a uncommon apology by chief Kim Jong-un for the capturing loss of life of the official.

The North Korean message distributed by South Korea stated its troops shot the official as a result of he tried to flee after refusing to reply their questions. It stated the troops have been unable to find the official’s body and burned the item he was floating on in step with anti-coronavirus guidelines.
