The Ministry of Textiles has invited proposals to represent a devoted export promotion council for technical textiles.
Exporter associations and commerce our bodies registered below the Companies Act or Society Registration Act can submit proposals by December 15, the ministry stated.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, in its assembly held in February this 12 months, gave its approval to arrange a National Technical Textiles Mission, with a four-year implementation interval and a complete outlay of ₹1,480 crore, to place the nation as a world chief in technical textiles. The export promotion council for technical textiles is among the parts of the mission. Ok.S. Sundararaman, chairman of Indian Technical Textile Association, stated annual technical textile exports are actually value ₹14,000 crore. The authorities is taking a look at explosive progress within the sector. Most of the exporters of technical textiles presently undergo export promotion councils for different merchandise. A devoted council for this sector can be helpful, he added.
Confederation of Indian Textile Industry’s chairman T. Rajkumar stated that the federal government had set a goal market measurement of $350 billion for technical textiles by 2024-2025 from the present $167 billion for the textile and clothes sector.
The choice to arrange a devoted export promotion council is a step in the precise route. he added.
