Mr. Narasimha Rao stated chilli and tobacco have been main crops in Guntur and Prakasam districts, and that the Farmer Producers Organisations (FPOs), to which the Centre accorded excessive precedence, can be of immense help in incomes first rate returns.

“This is due to the elimination of middlemen, who have been a bane for farmers,” he noticed.

Up to 1,000 farmers can be part of the FPOs. The Central authorities will lengthen a monetary assist of ₹25 lakh to every FPO for the primary 4 years and scale up help by means of different means subsequently.

Mr. Narasimha Rao stated the worry that the brand new legal guidelines would rob Agriculture Produce Market Committees of their autonomy was misplaced as they weren’t being meddled with.

“Henceforth, farmers can sell the produce through the Electronic National Agriculture Market without much difficulty. They can even trade their commodities anywhere in the country,” he added.

Necessary steps have been taken for augmenting the worth of commodities, significantly the perishable ones, and, thereby, allow the farmers to fetch minimal returns, he added.

Tobacco Board Chairman Y. Raghunath Babu, Guntur chilli yard chairman Chandragiri Yesu Ratnam and BJP State vice-president Ravela Kishore Babu have been amongst these current.
