Congress MLA D. Seethakka, on Wednesday, questioned the silence of the federal government over the rape and murder-attempt on a 13-year previous from Khammam, who’s now battling for her life in Osmania General Hospital.
Ms. Seethakka together with TPCC spokesperson Indira Shobhan and a staff of Congress staff visited the lady in the hospital, mentioned it was unlucky that neither a Minister nor an MLA visited the household even after 18 days of the incident.
She mentioned the federal government didn’t even shift the lady with 70% burns to a personal hospital for higher remedy. “This government is blind and deaf to the rape of a Dalit girl and it is shameful that none from the government has responded so far,” she remarked.
The lady was allegedly set ablaze after she resisted rape by the son of the home proprietor the place she is a home assist in Khammam.
According to police, on September 18, the lady was on the employer’s dwelling when his son tried to rape her. As she resisted and tried to flee. the accused allegedly poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze.
