In the fourth section of the continuing District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir, 34 constituencies shall be going to polls on Monday, together with 17 every from Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
The by polls to 50 vacant Sarpanch seats and 216 vacant Panch seats falling inside these DDC constituencies shall even be performed in this section, officers stated.
In the 4th section, out of the overall 280 DDC constituencies in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir 34 are going to polls.
There are a complete of 138 candidates in fray together with 48 females for 17 DDC constituencies of Kashmir division. In Jammu division, 111 candidates are in fray, of which 34 are females.
A complete of 123 Sarpanch vacancies have been notified in the 4th section of which 45 have been stuffed unopposed. Out of the overall 1,207 panch vacancies notified in this section, 416 have been stuffed unopposed.
In the 4th section, 7,17,322 electors are eligible to forged their votes together with 3,76,797 males and three,40,525 females. Amongst these 3,50,149 are from Jammu division and three,67,173 are from Kashmir division.
A complete of 1,910 polling stations have been setup throughout the UT for the four th section out of which 781 are in Jammu division and 1,129 are in Kashmir division. Out of these 1,910 polling stations, there shall be ballot for Sarpanch vacancies on 212 polling stations and Panch vacancies on 219 polling stations, together with the DDC polls.
Out of the 1,910 polling stations 1,152 are hyper delicate, 349 are delicate and 409 have been categorised as regular.
Polling for this section shall be performed on Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sanitisers, thermal scanners and face masks have been organized on the polling stations to make sure that SOPs issued by the involved authorities, together with sporting face masks and sustaining social distancing, are strictly adopted on the polling stations.
Special Polling Stations at Women College Gandhinagar, Jammu and Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur have been set as much as facilitate bodily voting by Kashmiri Migrants.
